The Village Idiot is located in Perrysburg (for those of you who are from out-of-town, this is a 10-15 drive minimum from anywhere in Toledo). Local and small music acts jam out at "The Idiot" on a regular basis. On the weekends, the crowd tends to be younger than its weekday counterpart. If the Village Idiot doesn't have any live music going on, the place is usually a bust.

Fricker's (Downtown)

Fricker's is a locally owned chain that currently has four locations in northwest Ohio. Fricker's (downtown) is built into the outfield at 5/3 Field (Toledo Mud Hens), and is the only bar that can boast live viewing of the baseball field. Anytime sports are on the television, Fricker's is at its best. The Emporium and the Bronze Boar are located on the opposite side of the stadium, and dance clubs are not far away.

Village Inn

The Village Inn is one of Sylvania's more popular bars. The patio is perfect for sipping on a few beers in the summer, and bikers run the table on Sunday nights. After work and early evening hours are when the Village Inn is at its best. When you ask for peanuts here, they roast them in the oven first (very good). The ambience is nothing to write home about, and probably will never change.

Fricker's (Perrysburg)

Fricker's is a locally owned chain that currently has four locations in northwest Ohio. This location is just off the expressway (475) at the Perrysburg High School exit. Anytime sports are on the television, Fricker's is at its best. Local "Friday Night Football" newscasts are a frequent stop at this location.

Jax Bar and Grill

Jax Bar and Grill is located on Dorr St., and within 100 feet of Ale House and Chasers. There are different drink specials from noon to 9pm, Monday through Friday (very long happy hour). The after work crowd fades out by 11pm, and the college students take over until closing. As with Ale House and Chasers, Jax Bar and Grill is at its best when the University of Toledo is in session.

BW3s (North Toledo)

BW3s (God only knows how they got this name out of Buffalo Wild Wings Bar and Grill) is the same in Toledo as you will find anywhere else in the country. Maryland may have football and crab cakes, but BW3s has football and wings (this is how we do it in the Midwest). Live trivia and video texas hold 'em poker games are almost always going on, and you can play against people from across the nation or those right next to you. Every Tuesday night there is a price break on buffalo wings, and prices on beer are slashed for the after work crowd.

Amigo's

Amigo's is owned by the "Ttown Boys", and on par with the rest of the Mexican restaurant/bars in Toledo. Amigo's lacks the patio that El Camino has, but the food is in the same class. The after work crowd makes up for most of the action at Amigo's. Mulvaney's Bunker is located just down Dorr St., and has a wide ranging crowd.

Trotter's Tavern

Description

Trotter's Tavern is located next to Jed's, in south Toledo, and has survived off of the crowd that Jed's attracts. Over the years, Trotter's has developed into a bar that is dominated by young business professionals. Don't let this fact fool you; Trotters is a decent bar and the crowd is usually laid back.

Avenue Bistro

If MILF Hunter listed a bar in Toledo, Avenue Bistro would be the front-runner. The actual bar space within the restaurant is very small. Thirty people in this bar, and you might have to call the fire marshal. The crowd tends to be upscale, and matches the decor of Avenue Bistro. The food might be a scam here, but the bar makes a trip worthwhile. Ownership recently changed hands, but don't expect much to change. Star Diner and BW3s are located in the same strip mall, and Frogtown Johnnies is across the street.

El Camino Real

El Camino Real is one of the hottest bars in Toledo in the summer time. The outdoor patio was recently remodeled, and is the sole reason for El Camino Real's success when it is warm out. Unfortunately, El Camino Real is really lacking in the entertainment department when it is cold outside. Located at the corner of Douglas and Sylvania Ave., El Camino Real is just down Sylvania Ave. from Club Soda, Six Pack, Nick and Jimmy's, and the Westfield Mall.
